Recipe for Spring: Ginger Lemon Tea with Mint

Spring brings with it vibrant awakening energy and flourishing blooms beginning all around us. With the increased energy surging through nature and the air, we tend to forget about the lingering reminder of Winter when the chillier mornings and evenings are amongst us.

What better way to support your system (and specifically your liver!) during the transition into Spring than making a nice, warm cup of ginger lemon tea with a hint of mint?! This recipe is super versatile and can be adjusted to suit your system’s nutritional support needs.

Ginger Lemon Tea with Mint Recipe

  • Juice of 1/2 a lemon
  • 1 thumb-sized piece of ginger (peeled and sliced lengthwise)
  • 3 to 5 sprigs of mint (I like to use spearmint or peppermint) or basil if you choose
  • 1 cup of hot (not boiling) water

Steps to take:

Steep the lemon, ginger, and mint sprigs in the water for 5 to 8 minutes and strain before consuming. You can also opt for 1 cup of warm water with half a fresh lemon squeezed in – if you don’t have the extra herbs on hand.

This is a wonderful recipe to come back to any time of the year when you’re feeling cold, sluggish, or needing extra internal support. Spring is an especially magical time to start the day off with all the things warm and sour ????
